Dr. Ashutosh Chauhan
Introduction
He did his MBBS from Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi and MS in General Surgery from Lady Hardinge Medical College New Delhi, University of Delhi. After completing his senior residency in general surgery at L.H.M.C, New Delhi, Dr. Chauhan embarked on higher education to the United States of America.
He joined the residency program in General Surgery at the University of Illinois, Chicago, Metropolitan Group of Hospitals. He focused on Vascular and Transplant Surgery during his training here. After the general surgery residency training, Dr. Chauhan joined an ASTS approved fellowship training program in Multivisceral Transplant and Hepato-Biliary Surgery at the world renowned Mayo Clinic Rochester. Following completion of the training program in 2012, he received certification from the American Society of Transplant Surgeons to perform Liver Transplants.
Dr. Chauhan returned to India in 2012 and helped establish the Liver Transplant program at the BL Kapur memorial hospital in New Delhi and In 2014 Liver Transplant team at the Apollo hospital. This is one of the biggest Living Donor Liver Transplant programs in the world with close to 350 LDLT procedures done every year.
